What to expect?
Registration is 30 minutes before at the diving center, located inside the Tortugas beach club (it has bathrooms, dressing rooms, restaurant and private pier).
Enjoy a good coffee or soft drink while you check in and review the paperwork (insurance and liability release)
Once you're ready, start your 40-minute theory class (in English or Spanish) where you'll learn the basic principles of diving and get to know the complete diving equipment (regulator, vest, mask and fins).
After your theoretical class, we assemble your equipment and go to the beach where you will practice in shallow water (approx. 1 meter) some basic safety and buoyancy exercises.
At the end of the exercises, we do our diving in the open sea entering from the beach towards a reef with a maximum depth of 8 meters, where you will be able to see coral formations and hundreds of multicolored fish. The duration of the dive depends on your air consumption, but is approximately 40 minutes.
After the beach dive, we get on the boat to do a second dive in another reef at a greater depth (maximum 16 meters) where you can see huge coral formations, reef fish and larger marine species such as turtles and manta rays.
At the end of the second dive, we head back to the diving center while we enjoy a boat ride with incredible views of the sea and the island.
