Prepare to be amazed as you dive into the crystal-clear turquoise waters of Isla Mujeres, where you'll encounter a remarkable collection of underwater sculptures meticulously arranged to create a constantly evolving underwater landscape. These sculptures, submerged at a maximum depth of 8.5 meters, provide a unique and captivating experience for both beginners and experienced snorkelers.
In 2008, the visionaries Dr. Jaime Gonzalez Canto, Roberto Diaz Abraham, and Jason deCaires Taylor embarked on an ambitious project to transform nature itself into an underwater art gallery and coral reef. They recognized the need to protect the fragile natural coral reefs from damage caused by divers, anchors, and tourists. Traditional concrete reefs, installed in 2005 to divert activity away from the damaged Manchones reef after Hurricane Wilma, would take too long to flourish.
The project aimed to sink around 500 statues by the end of 2010, distributed across 10 different areas in the national park, with Manchones alone boasting 477 remarkable elements to date. Each sculpture is meticulously crafted from PH neutral marine concrete, providing an ideal substrate for the growth of coral, seaweed, and algae. The statues feature strategically designed holes that allow marine life to colonize and thrive, creating a vibrant ecosystem.
As a result of MUSA's success, the stress on the natural reefs has significantly decreased. In 2015 alone, a quarter of a million visitors chose to explore MUSA instead of the natural reef, reducing the impact on the fragile underwater ecosystems.

1.- Cancellation with 7 Days Prior Notice to Starting Date:
Full refund of the amount paid will be provided.
2.- Cancellation with Notice within 7 – 3 Days Prior to Starting Date:
Refund payment except 50 USD penalty per person or rescheduling without any additional charges is available.
3.- Cancellation with Notice within 72 Hours Prior to Starting Date:
No refund will be provided.
4.- Cancellations due to sickness or other medical conditions preventing diving with Notice within 72 Hours Prior to Starting Date:
A written statement from a doctor is required and we will make every effort to reschedule the dives at no extra cost. If immediate rescheduling isn't feasible, a voucher valid for 3 consecutive years will be issued.
5.- Cancellations with No Notice:
No refund will be given.
