Snorkel In Isla Espiritu Santo

La Paz

From USD 104/person

Description

Snorkeling with sea lions in Isla Espiritu Santo.

In the northern part of the majestic Espiritu Santo Island, which is located at the northeast of the beautiful bay of La Paz, there is an islet called "Los Islotes", which are two islets or large rocks, one of which is a natural arch.

There lives a colony of over 400 sea lions. In this tour you will have the amazing opportunity to get into the water and swim with them! They are very playful and fun, particularly the small ones.

Between June and August, it's not possible to swim in Los Islotes as it's mating season for sea lions. Therefore, during those months, snorkeling with sea lions is done in San Rafaelito.

San Rafaelito is a small islet with a coral reef, serving as a passage or exile rookery that has now become a breeding ground for sea lions. In addition to being a navigational beacon, it's part of the protected natural area of Balandra, where visitors can see sea lions, yellow-footed gulls, sardines, snappers, and many other reef fish.

Besides the sea lions you will enjoy a wide variety of species of tropical fish, corals, and larger animals such as in certain occasions whale sharks.

On the way to the island is very common to find dolphins that come to play in the boat, and in season, various whale species or mobulas.

We will stop at one of the most beautiful beaches of the Espiritu Santo Island in order to take a delicious lunch in a pleasant environment and have some time for sunbathing and snorkeling.

Espiritu Santo Island, is a Protected Natural Area declared World Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in 1995.

In it you will find an impressive scenic beauty; The contrast between the desert and the sea and its rock formations of volcanic origin will captivate you, as well as the large amount of flora and fauna that inhabits the place.

Discover the pristine beaches of crystalline waters where you can do another snorkel or simply walk through its fine sands.

It was a magical and unforgettable experience. We saw the majestic whale shark; the guide even held our hands to help us stay calm and led us to where we could see it best! We felt incredibly safe with the captain and the guide, who were always very attentive and made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed to eat and drink. The ceviche and guacamole were delicious. I highly recommend taking this tour with this company; you won't regret it!
