San Ignacio Lagoon

Gray whales make one of the longest migrations of any mammal, traveling between 15,000 and 20,000 kilometers annually. One of their key destinations is Laguna San Ignacio in Baja California Sur, Mexico, where they gather during the winter months to give birth and mate. This lagoon is part of the El Vizcaíno Biosphere Reserve and offers a protected environment for the whales and their calves. Visitors can experience up-close whale watching, making it a popular spot for ecotourism.
