Description
The Revillagigedo Archipelago
Born from volcanic origins, Socorro is one of four islands that form the Revillagigedo Archipelago. Nestled in a unique geographical location, these remote islands attract some of the most breathtaking marine life on the planet.
From giant manta rays and over 10 species of sharks to playful dolphins and the occasional whale, the waters of Socorro offer an unparalleled diving experience. Join us and discover why this UNESCO World Heritage Site is considered a dream destination for divers worldwide.
Diving and Marine Life
The Revillagigedo Islands are home to some of the most incredible pelagic encounters in the world. Dive with us, and you’ll come face-to-face with graceful giant manta rays, curious dolphins, powerful tuna, and an impressive variety of sharks.
We are often treated to surprise visits by humpback whales, false killer whales, massive bait balls, and schooling sharks. Here, we let the magic of Socorro unfold—every dive is an unforgettable adventure!
Best Time for Your Socorro Adventure
Socorro diving season in the Solmar V runs from November to May each year. The off-season is due to unfavorable weather conditions and hurricane risks, but during these six months, there is never a “bad” time to visit!
The best time to go depends on your preferences. Feel free to ask us for our seasonal wildlife chart, which highlights when specific animals are more commonly seen. If you have a dream marine encounter in mind, let the chart help guide your decision!

Diving: Specific dive sites and locations will be selected by the captain based on weather conditions and the number of other boats in the area. During these five full dive days, you will have the chance to dive at some of our favorite sites, including El Cañon, the Boiler, Red Rocks, Roca Partida, Cabo Pearse, Punta Tosca, and Roca O’Neal. We understand that many guests want to maximize their dive experience, so we strive to offer an average of 4 dives a day, except for the day we do our mandatory check-in at the local navy base, where you will likely have the option of 3 dives. The number of dives may vary due to weather conditions, the unpredictability of the ocean, and the presence of other dive boats.

Swimming with the whale sharks was worth every penny! No sunscreen so wear a swim shirt or rent a wetsuit. Our Captain Solomon was fabulous and our guide Nano was fun, energetic and did everything he could to make this a magical experience for everyone on board. We were the first pick up and last drop off which meant for a super long day but highly recommend!!

We took the whale shark watching tour; we had a fantastic day with tons of sharks. Truly a dream. I would recommend it a thousand times over.

This was an amazing excursion. The Captain knew right where to drop you in so you can swim along the whale shark. If you hesitate, you ok be behind. The captain’s mate did a wonderful job of orienting you once you jumped in the water and he took amazing photos and video. I definitely recommend Gluup for this trip.
