Ecotourism To Protect Magdalena Bay

It dawns, we embark on the next adventure, the striped marlin expedition in Magdalena Bay which is a 50 km extension of land where you can find  the picturesque fishing ports of San Carlos and López Mateos, on the western coast of Baja California Sur. In its waters appear Magdalena Island and Santa Margarita Island.

Year after year different migratory species gather in this area in order to feed and reproduce. Since 2005 there has been record of a particularly interesting species, the striped marlin. It reaches 3.5 meters long and weighs up to 200 kg. Thanks to its appearance, a sustainable and ecological management of the ecosystem has been achieved. The local economy used to be based in part on shark fishing, but since 2010 this activity has been replaced by tourist expeditions of sighting and swimming with striped marlin and other species, achieving a healthier and more prolific environment.

Together with us, you will be able to immerse yourself and see this spectacle of nature in first row, while you will help to promote the conservation of the species through a sustainable tourism operation. You will find that all the details that we have carefully supervised of this expedition, go hand in hand with the conservation of our seas by avoiding our consumption of plastics, educating our clients and sharing with the rest of the world the importance of each species. We offer 3 full days of marine exploration (8 to 10 hours a day), looking for these wonderful beings in the clear and calm waters of the bay. In addition to the striped marlin, you will have great possibilities to observe and swim with mobula rays, dolphins, sharks, whales, sea lions, various fish, even killer whales!
